Riviera Hotel Durban

The other people in a hotel were polite and did not make noise in the passages

The floor carpet should be removed. The room was smelling of dampness

The fact that they allow smoking in the hotel and rooms.

the hotel was comfortable and the night staff verry welcoming.the rooms were very neat and self contend.

i didnt like the food and the tv channels

Location is best facing the harbour....as someone from the inland I enjoyed the sea views alot......easily accessible to down town...durban...

Staff are so riggid...not welcoming....they wait for a guest to say hello to them & ask for help instead of vice versa......was given tea in a dirty cup.....

You are not allowed to bring anything to drink or eat to the hotel but the kitchen does not offer a variety - There is no coffee or tea in the rooms

The stay was good, friendly staff

It serves the purpose of being in Durban for a holiday.

Please keep update information of events and bus routes updates at your reception or in rooms.

the hotel has an excellent location at the center of durban. most of the shopping mall are right behind the hotel. there is no need for extra cost on transportation to shopping mall. just 2-3 minutes walk from the hotel, you find yourself in the main market.

as much as i love the hotel, i need to bring up this. i am supposed to be charged 50% deposit of the total cost of the hotel at booking time to secure my booking but the hotel went ahead to charge my card the full cost but after complaining and telling the hotel manager about the transaction alert from my bank that confirms the debit of the full cost, the hotel manager or so, Peter refunded my money.

The small restuarante is cheap and the food is good. You dont have to leave the hotel it is inside. The staff is friendly.

The hotel is close to the harbour where we had to be the following day for a cruise to Portugese Island

I felt very unsafe, it is not in a good area.

The front door.....is nog big enough to take our suitcases through.....that was the only problem

Nothing, it is nothing like Riviera hotle in Vaal. It is listed with the hotel mentioned, but no rating hence the Vaal one is 5 star.
